Stay safe and respect others this Halloween
Halloween is a fun time of year for many families, but it's important to remember that unexpected knocks at the door and groups of trick-or-treaters can be unsettling for some older or vulnerable residents.
To help everyone enjoy a safe and respectful Halloween, safe & sound, Dudley's Community Safety Partnership, is encouraging residents to look out for friends, family members and neighbours who may prefer not to receive callers.
A 'No Trick or Treat' card can be downloaded from the safe & sound website and displayed at the front of a property to let visitors know they do not wish to be disturbed. If children and young people are out celebrating Halloween, please remind them to respect 'No Trick or Treat' signs and avoid knocking on those doors.
The partnership is also encouraging parents and carers to talk to children and young people about staying safe while trick-or-treating, including:
Staying together with friends and not going out alone
Sticking to areas they know well
Only visiting houses of people they know
Respecting 'No Trick or Treat' signs
