About the event
Safe and Sound, Dudley’s Community Safety Partnership, are pleased to invite you to attend a FREE Honour-Based Abuse training event being run by Darlaston Youth Centre.
Honour in a Crime? is a National Lottery Community Funded Project written and produced by a Project Team of young women from Darlaston Youth Centre exploring honour-based abuse issues. The project has been supported by West Midlands Police.
We deliver interactive ‘powerful’ and ‘hard-hitting’ workshops (honour-based abuse training) and film screenings across the U.K to raise awareness and educate young people and adult groups.
Practitioners will gain an understanding of honour-based abuse including the historical origins of honour crimes and themes such as the mindset of a perpetrator, differential treatment, controlling behaviour, impact on the victim and community collusion. There is an overview of the background of the Honour in a Crime? Project and the opportunity to view scenes from our Daddy’s Little…izzat film. …
